SMALL PLATES ~ BIG FLAVORS

On January 7, 2019 we sold the restaurant we called home for the past 10 years—our beloved Mache Bistro—the restaurant that brought us back to Maine, the restaurant where we raised our girls, the restaurant where we had the pleasure of working with the most awesome staff, the restaurant that allowed us to meet and feed the greatest people!

On May 15, 2019- exactly TEN years to the DAY we signed the lease in 2009 for Mache Bistro- we purchased our “old” building at 135 Cottage Street. On July 2nd we opened our new restaurant CIAO.

Our casual menu is inspired from our family’s winter journeys near and far. When Bar Harbor turns dark at 3:30 in the winter, travel feeds our souls and opens our minds. Whether it is New Orleans, Charleston, Portland, Maine, Montreal, Italy, or Mexico—we always manage to find casual food and drink that keeps our family happy. You will still see many of the delicious flavors that we showcased at Mache-but they may show up in surprising dishes. And, yes—we’ll always have space on our changing menu for some ‘ole favorites;) Stay tuned!
